Creating social media content is time-consuming, but we don't want to post AI-generated content without adding a personal touch. That's why I created this automation for draft creation. With ChatGPT and Make, you'll have the best of both worlds.

Overview of the Automation Process

This automation consists of three primary components:

1. RSS Feed (trigger): Collects relevant content from authoritative sources.
2. Create a Completion (action): Analyze the article and create a draft (In my example, I used the “Message an Assistant action which sends messages to a specified or newly created thread)
3. Google Sheets (action): Logs the generated drafts for easy editing.

Step-by-Step Implementation

Step 1: Set Up RSS Feed Trigger

• Use the RSS module in Make.
• Select "Watch RSS Feed Items."
• Configuration:
  • Input the URL of the RSS feed you want to monitor.
  • Set how often you want Make to check for new items (e.g., every 15 minutes).

Step 2: Generate Content with OpenAI Assistant

• Add the OpenAI module.
• Choose "Create a Completion."
• Configuration:

  • While I have used an OpenAI Assistant for better results, you can also use the "Create a Completion" module.

  • In the "Prompt" field, personalize it with a template like this:

    Analyze the following article and generate a draft suitable for X/Twitter. Keep it less than 280 characters, including spaces. Title: [Insert RSS Title] Description: [Insert RSS Description] Please ensure the tone is [insert desired tone, e.g., professional, casual]. Don't use hashtags or emojis. If the article is not relevant to [insert company name], don't create a draft and return "Not relevant"

  • Adjust parameters such as temperature (0.7 for creativity) and max tokens (150-300 based on your needs).

Step 3: Log Drafts in Google Sheets

• Use the Google Sheets module.
